NYU’s Department for Social and Cultural Analysis hosts its annual conference on Saturday, April 8th. Vanessa will be a panelist in The Present Value of Biophysical Crisis, to be held between 11 am and 1 pm. She will present some of the ideas from her recent book, 2100: A Dystopian Utopia in a panel discussion with Janet Roitman, Stephen Collier, and Cassie Fennell. Ecologies of the Future Present will explore the ways in which ecologies, species, bodies, and organisms are governed by an orientation toward the future, raising questions of accountability, vulnerability, and risk.
