Studioteka progress walk through on our West Village pied a terre!

August 7, 2019

Studioteka is pleased at the pace of progress on our 3 bedroom, 3-1/2 bath apartment interiors project in Manhattan! Ceiling soffit installation is ongoing and drywall is being cut to close the sides. We had a kick off walk through with the electricians who now have started their portion of the work. Next up, power and illumination! Stay tuned for more progress and let us know what we can do for you!

We have carefully added soffits along the existing beams of this elegant vaulted concrete ceiling in order to add recessed lights which will greatly enhance this tall and light filled space.
Some more of our carefully placed soffits. When we are done it will look simply as if the beams were just 5″ lower!
The team meets with the electricians and general contractor’s foreman in order to coordinate the installation of the Louis Poulsen fixtures we’ve specified for the ceiling.
The framing of the ceiling wasn’t a straightforward affair, as the beams and windows are highly idiosyncratic in this landmarkeded building.
The area in the corner here will hold a custom designed TV console which is currently being built in a millwork shop in Staten Island.
Contractors and Studioteka’s team discuss soffit construction and recessed lighting installation.
Lasers were used to ensure that everything lines up!
Master Bedroom progress is coming along nicely!
More Master Bedroom, this time looking towards the opposite wall.
Guest Bedroom is also moving along nicely. Can’t wait to see these spaces illuminated! The fixtures we have chosen give a beautiful glow that’s very similar to natural daylight.
